here's a card i thought was DONE before i added the stitching. it had the sage green panel with a border of the fabulously nubbly "lost and found" trim. it had the strips of prima and echo park patterned paper and my computer-generated sentiment. it even had the fun layered die-cut snowflake surmounted by a prima flower. it looked *
good* ...and yet...somehow... i didn't love it.
i set it aside and came back the next day. i used a scrap of green to try out a few background treatments. stamping?
not quite right. spray ink?
nope. bit of stenciling?
uh-uh. finally it hit me: i would hand-stitch a flourishy swirl, as if a little gust of wind had just blown the snowflake onto my card.
one hand-stitched swirl.
(just ONE!)
half an hour later i was still at the sewing machine, swirling and flourishing... flourishing and swirling... and my little gust of wind had somehow become an arctic gale. but *NOW* i love the card!!!
